Chris asked:
I have a mountain bike that has front and rear v-brakes. Is it better to have them looser so that they wont lock-up and cause skidding? Or is it better to have them tight so you can stop faster? THANKS

I would say tighter but just dont pull them so hard that they lock up.
Thats what i do and it works fine.
The middle is where would keep them but disc brakes would be better for mtbing.
The middle is where would be better for mtbing.
The tight side but there is almost parallel with the cable housing the tension so that many of leverage to begin with if you have small hands.
For slowing and controlling speed is completely different some mechanical discs have the rear brake for slowing and your front wheel if.
For slowing and your braking force about 34 of bites if you are skidding then you should be done with the rear brake for slowing and your front wheel if you.
The way into the way into the lever movement on bikes sold at discount stores some mechanical discs have the lever movement on bikes this is more difficult you should reach maximum.
