A little bit different what we may have been used to in the past, getting the right kind of mountain bike for us require more careful thinking when it comes to details.

If you have made a New Years resolution this year then the chances are you are planning to do some form of exercise. However what is the best form of exercise and why?
Gym
The gym can be a great place to go to not only to exercise but for help on exactly what you need to do so lose that weight or work on those muscles. the great thing about a gym membership is that you get people that are there to help you out. There is a very big problem with going to the gym and the fact is that it can be very expensive and if you are not going with friends it tends to be very boring especially if you do not have an iPod. Although many gyms are affordable it is also true to say that the decent ones aren't cheap which means you may have to make sacrifices.
Running
The great thing about running is that it is a very affordable way to get exercise. I would advise going out in the early mornings or just as the sun is setting to get the benefit of the cool weather. This is something that will help you out a lot as it settles the body gradually. Many people do not like running and this is down to the fact that they are doing it in public and feel uncomfortable.
Cycling
Cycling is another huge form of exercise and there seems to be more and more people out there riding to work as the years go on. I believe that the number of people that use bikes will only increase as more people seem to be caring about the environment. It would seem that once again the problem is the cost here. Conversely, if you ride at a high intensity over shorter periods, you will develop more fast twitch (powerful) fibres and build muscle size. But which muscles get worked the most when cycling.
Quadriceps (thighs). Without doubt the muscles that produce most of the force when cycling are the quadriceps. These are the muscles that straighten out the leg and produce the down force on the pedals, which in turn rotate the crack. Racing bikes in fact are designed to locate the quads directly over the crack so that maximum efficiency is achieved. When cycling fast, these muscles are contracted and relaxed hundreds of times a minute and so they need to be in good shape.
Gastrocnemius (calf muscles). The muscles of the calf work just as hard as those of the thigh, and relative to their size they produce a lot of power.When the leg is straightened by the quadricep muscles, there is still a percentage of power that can be gained by flexing the calf muscles and pointing the toes downwards. - American Football – This may be the obvious one but its true.
- Baseball – Some argue this is the number one sport.
- Basketball – Without a doubt this sport should be at this position, if not higher.
- Hockey – A great Sport in America, but bigger in other countries, it is still huge.
- Golf – It doesn’t take much to realise where the boom happened, it was Mr Woods.
- Wrestling – One of the highest viewed programs on American TV.
- Tennis – Americans have always played very good tennis, coming to Wimbledon and winning many trophies.
- Skateboarding – America launched this sport from nothing to everything, now being taken up around the world.
- Surfing – Well, America helped this sport to make its mark.
- Ice Skating – Although you may not have really thought about it, it is quite a big one.
- Boxing – A great sport loved by all, but the Americans host the best fights.
- Soccer – Has only just really started to happen for the Americans, but they are keen to push forward with it.
- Archery – Well when you have the likes of Geena Davis, your guaranteed to get a medal.
- Volleyball – What a great sport, all you need to do is watch and your happy.
- Cycling – Has been in the sport world for a while now, and has taken off, but not as much as others.
- Track and Field – This is a great set of sports, culminated into one, and the Americans excel at it.
- Horse Racing – may not ever be as big as some, but will be around for, well probably ever.
- Rock Climbing – This hasn’t lifted as much as other Sports, but is still popular.
- Extreme Sports – These are the sports you have a high chance of being killed in.
- Auto Racing – Is very popular, but it doesn’t come high because of the different opinions across America.
